Welcome to Reception

Mrs Downing and Mrs Barska

In reception we have lots of fun learning through play, we will meet Fred the Frog who will help us to learn our phonics, make new friends and get to know our school family.

We have settled into our new classroom and space in which to learn and achieve. We continue to be busy creating a space in which all children can explore, imagine, challenge, develop and learn together. The children have been making use of the new areas both indoors and outdoors, developing their confidence, demonstrating their design and building skills, mark making skills, making new friendships and deepening their learning.

We have PE on a Tuesday and on a Friday with Mr Lofthouse. Please ensure your child brings their PE kit to school on these days and remove all jewelry including earrings . Our PE kit is a green t-shirt, black shorts/leggings/joggers and suitable footwear.

Please encourage you child to bring their book bag to school each day so we that they are able to bring home their reading book, creations, letters and belongings.

In reception we are learning to become independent and we would love you to help your child by encouraging them to put on and zip up their own coats and to get dressed into their school uniform. These important skills help children at play times, home time and on PE days.
