Welcome to Year 4
Miss Francis and Mr Fagan
Welcome to our Year 4 class page! In our class we love to learn, we work together and we always try our best. In our classroom, we celebrate each other’s unique, God-given talents, always striving to act with kindness, resilience, and joy. Check this page regularly to follow our learning adventures, explore our exciting curriculum, and find important class announcements as we grow together in faith and knowledge.
Our Learning Journey
This year, we grow in faith through RE and explore God’s world across a rich curriculum:
-
- Science & Computing: Discovering how the world works and building digital skills.
- History & Geography: Uncovering past events and exploring global landscapes.
- Creative Arts: Developing our talents and expression in Art and French.
- PSHE: Learning how to care for ourselves and support each other with kindness.
Weekly Reminders
-
- Monday Morning: Swimming lessons (please bring full swimming kits).
- Wednesday Afternoon: P.E. lessons (please ensure full P.E. kits are in school).
Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check (MTC)
In June, all Year 4 pupils across England take part in the national Multiplication Tables Check. This is a quick, friendly, and low-pressure online check to see how comfortably your child knows their times tables up to 12 x 12.
Why and How to Practice
Knowing times tables builds immense confidence. It makes future math topics like fractions and division feel much easier and more enjoyable.
To help your child succeed without any stress, we recommend:
- Short bursts: Practice for just 3 to 5 minutes each day.
- TTRockStars: Log in to Times Tables Rock Stars (link below) at home to play fun games and build speed.
