Mr Houghton will be your teacher Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Mrs Hall will be your teacher on a Thursday and Friday.
Learning Panes
In Year 5 learning is very important to us all and we like to reflect on the amazing things we learn. At the end of each day we complete our ‘Learning Pane’ together. We discuss what has been the two most important pieces of learning to us that day. You can see an example below:

Homework
Homework focuses on 3 key areas:
Reading
Spelling
Times Tables
Reading helps our brains grow and can take us to so many amazing places! We ask that your child reads at home at least 3 times a week. Please sign your child’s reading record each time they read at home. We will also send home key spellings each week (to be completed daily) as well as key times tables facts (rotated weekly). Home work is sent out on a Friday and is to be returned the following Thursday. Let’s see who are our HOMEWORK HEROES!
Maths Learning!
In maths we follow Abacus Mathematics Scheme as the basis of our progressive curriculum across the whole school. This ensures that learning is consolidated and built on year after year.
Year 5 are amazing in their learning at school and I know they are so keen to continue this at home! We have our very own Year 5 MyMaths log in so that all of Year 5 can access maths activities and games.
